This location has a long history of flooding. Adding acres of impervious surface would increase runoff, threaten nearby waterways, and put the broader community at risk.
02 · Traffic & safety
About 3,000 more trips a day.
The proposal is expected to generate approximately 3,000 daily vehicle trips. The school road would serve as an entrance, while construction and I-81 detours already strain Route 460.
03 · Community impact
Nearly 1,000 new residents.
A development of this scale could nearly double Elliston's population without the stores, schools, law enforcement, and other services needed to support that growth.
04 · The wrong growth
Protect the village plan.
The county's own plan calls for a rural village shaped by farms, history, natural resources, and community institutions. Ask the Board to deny this rezoning and protect that future.
